Subject: An Electrical Question

To General Electric.

I have pondered an electrical question and I know you can give me the answer. If General Electric can't answer a question about electricity, then no one can.

Most people know the relationship between electricity and magnetism. By applying electricity to a metal coil, an electromagnet can be created, which has the benefit of being able to be turned on and off using some type of switch. In addition, the polarity can be changed to either attract or repel another magnet.

Suppose I were to give my wife a magnetized heart-shaped pendant on her birthday, and I wore a similar heart-shaped pendant, (except my pendant would be a battery-powered electromagnet, with a switch).

Could I make myself more attractive to my wife by turning my pendant "On" and less attractive by reversing the polarity?

Having such a device would be of great value to me. I could turn it on when she "has a headache" and put it in "reverse" when I'm watching a baseball game on TV.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

Tommy
