Election Alert

Dear Secretary Williams

I want to alert you to an unconstitutional effort to hijack elections. Since elections are the responsibility of your office, I am hoping you will nip this in the bud before it gains any support. I urge you to oppose this effort with the utmost vigor.

I heard part of a discussion on a radio show where two professors were proposing an all-male primary election. I could hardly believe my ears! Women have been voting since the 1950’s and we cannot simply take away their voting rights!!!!!! My own mother was a woman! I think this is another example of the Republican’s war on women. This smells political to me.

Please look into this.

Tommy

Mr. Prozach,

The right of women to vote is not in any danger. It is guaranteed by the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution and cannot be taken away through initiative or legislation. Such a right could only be revoked by repealing the 19th Amendment. For information on the process of amending the Constitution, see the following page: http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/constitution/
