A Public Health Idea

Subject: An Idea to Control Disease

Greetings!

I have an idea that will control disease.

Will you please pass it along to the appropriate people and let me know if Denver Public Health would like to implement it?

There are many diseases and I have decided to focus on just one type: Sexually Transmitted Diseases, or STD’s.

STD’s are transmitted by unprotected sexual encounters with an infected person. Well, the problem is that in most cases, neither party has prior knowledge if the other party is infected.  I think this problem is easily solved.

My idea is to develop a smart phone app that empowers people about to engage in a sexual encounter to summon an STD Rapid Response Agent to determine if either party has an STD. These Agents would wear white lab coats and have a stethoscope hanging around their neck.

(Best Buy requires its Geek Squad Agents to wear short sleeve white shirts and wear a thin black tie and use a plastic pocket protector. I think having your Agents wear white lab coats with a stethoscope is a similarly brilliant idea that will help brand the service. This simple dress code will promote trust and authority.)

The STD Agents would drive small, fuel efficient vehicles, clearly labeled “STD Rapid Response Team” with a purple cross painted on the vehicle. When called to a scene, the agent would activate a flashing LED sign visible on all four sides of the vehicle “Please Yield. Help Prevent STD’s. Now Working an Active Case”

When summoned by the app, the Agent would arrive at a location and conduct a physical examination of the parties.

If both parties are “clean”, the agent would issue a “Green and Clean” card to each participant.

If either party is infected, the agent would issue a “Red and Dead” card to the infected participant.  (I don’t think this is too dramatic. A POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCE COULD BE DEATH!!!!!!!!)

I am not asking for any compensation for my idea. Denver Public Health is free to implement it if you think it will help.

My goal is to make the world a better place, one day at a time.

Sincerely,

Tommy
