Changing Sexual Orientation

Dear Rep. Rosenthal.

I fully support your state legislative initiative to “ban efforts to change a person’s sexual orientation“.  I wish you success in passing this legislation.

First, it’s ridiculous to think that changing a person’s sexual orientation could even be possible. It would require a third party to watch every sexual encounter and then “ring a buzzer” or “throw a flag” if the orientation were incorrect. Just think about the impossible logistics of scheduling. The state could not possibly hire enough third-party observers to watch every act!

Secondly, and more importantly, who’s to say if a person’s sexual position is right or wrong? Some people have engaged in sex vertically, standing up in the shower! I could not do that but who am I to tell someone else their orientation is wrong. It should be up to each individual to decide for themselves how they want to contort their body.

Please pass this law!

Tommy
